COL Kelly J Faucette is a doctor who takes care of children with cancer, anemia, and bleeding problems. He is trained as a pediatrician and as a specialist in blood disorders and cancer. During his military service, he worked in a combat support hospital, treating injuries from explosions, shrapnel, and burns, and also cared for sick adults a big change from his usual work with children. Thanks to years of training, he was ready for the challenge.

He grew up on a small farm in Colorado and graduated from Sanford High School, which had only 19 students in his class. After one year at Adams State College in Alamosa, CO, he graduated from Brigham Young University. He went on to study medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. He completed his pediatric residency at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO, and later did a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Primary Children’s Hospital and the University of Utah in 1992. By that time, he had spent 27 years in school. COL Faucette served in the U.S. Army for 28 years. He is the proud father of four children and grandfather to 13 grandchildren
